107. Optimal Health Challenge Pearls
Your health is non-negotiable. So often, we’re putting ourselves and our health priorities last… or at least not at the top of our daily to-do list. But what if I told you that by prioritizing your health and your health goals, you’ll be better able to handle everything else that life throws your way?
Key Takeaways
There are so many benefits of NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis) and you can get them by starting with 10 minutes of walking!
Your body is unique. Eat, move, sleep, and relax the way that makes YOU feel best, not what nutritional gurus recommend.

Stop Making Excuses and Start Prioritizing You
One of the biggest excuses for not going all-in on ourselves is that we don’t have time to prioritize ourselves and our health. I encourage you to redefine your thoughts about this. It really does come down to prioritizing your time: what matters to you?
When you prioritize yourself, you’re allowing yourself to go all-in on yourself. And I can’t tell you how important that is! You are absolutely the most important person in your life, it’s time to start treating yourself that way.
It’s also so important for you to know your body type. By knowing this, you can really curate your health and wellness goals in a realistic, authentic way that will not only make you feel better but will encourage you to keep going!
Accountability and Community Support Matters
I believe in the cycle of accountability and believing you’re worth it. When you hold yourself accountable to your goals, you’ll start to see progress and change. This will lead you to truly believe you’re worth making these positive changes, which helps you be accountable!
I’m also a firm believer in the power of community. Community is a vital part of my health and fitness goals. Support from like-minded people with similar goals is incredible for cheerleading, accountability, and advice.
I’m running a four-week Jump Start with Ali program where you can stop putting your health on hold and start stepping into the fittest, strongest, and most confident version of yourself. Sign up to join us!

Quotes
“The idea that we can go all-in on ourselves, that it’s allowed, and that not only is it allowed, it’s non-negotiable. Our health is non-negotiable and so often we put so many things in front of our own health that we actually have to take a step back and ask, what is impacting me here?” [3:51]
“If your goal is to lose body fat, then having a plan like intuitive eating wouldn’t actually be a proper plan. Intuitive eating is all about also making peace with your body. Can you lose body fat while intuitive eating? Sure, you can. But the goal would not be to lose body fat. It can be a secondary effect of the intuitive eating.” [5:50]
“My biggest takeaway is to embrace my unique body type and not try to be something I am genetically not destined to be.” [11:38]
“When we can understand our tendencies towards our thought distortions, we can be ahead of the game and ready for those automatic thoughts to come and hit us.” [14:56]
