Hi I’m Dr. Ali Novitsky…

A Board-certified Obesity Medicine Physician and Optimal Health Coach with Expertise in Nutrition & Exercise Strategy.

My health journey began at the tender age of six when it was first pointed out to me that I was "chubby." By eight, I found myself on my first diet, igniting a relentless drive to transform myself. At twelve, I was grappling with an extra 50 pounds — weight that followed me throughout my formative years. Even after culminating my efforts in a Division 1 athletic career, I hit my heaviest point, realizing that the years spent adhering to diet culture's narrow standards had led me astray.

So, I made a pivotal decision: I would do it my way. In the following year, I shed those 50 pounds, a feat I have maintained for over 22 years. This journey has equipped me with a wealth of knowledge in exercise and nutrition strategies that resonate not only with the body but truly honour the spirit. I'm here to guide others in discovering their own paths to health, empowerment, and sustained well-being.

My story is unique because I struggled with disordered eating, restrictive dieting, and body dysmorphia from a very young age. What once felt like a burden has transformed into my greatest gift, allowing me to curate optimal health strategies that can truly change the way people live. Through my experiences, I have developed principles that are not only effective but also enjoyable, grounding my approach in the belief that health should enrich our lives, not restrict them. I teach based on how I live—embodying the practices I advocate for. And even though I may seem like I have always exuded confidence, the reality is that it has been a journey of self-discovery and healing. Embracing my past has equipped me with a deeper understanding of the factors that hold many back, empowering me to inspire others to break free from their struggles and cultivate a healthier, more fulfilling life. Together, we can rewrite our narratives and embrace the joy that comes with nurturing our bodies and spirits.

My main focus is on nutrition strategy, and I’m so passionate about helping you, as a busy doctor, learn a simple but powerful way to talk to your patients about nutrition. This approach isn’t just about helping your patients feel better—it’s about making a real difference in their lives and the lives of their families. It’s all about creating lasting changes that stick. By taking this step, you’ll feel confident talking about nutrition in a way that truly resonates, and together, we’ll change the way we, as doctors, approach nutrition and exercise as part of everyday health care.
